Club Nights

Club Nights are on the 1st Wednesday of the month (except December & January), at The Crown Inn, Elton, off Junction 17 of the A1 (A605), nr Peterborough and start at 8.00/8.30 p.m.
Directions - From (junction 17) follow the signs West, towards Oundle and Northampton (A605). After approximately 2 miles, turn right into the village of Elton, continuing along this road for about half a mile before turning left into Middle Street (just after the bus stop), signposted Nassington. Follow the road round the sharp right bend, continuing on, and the Pub stands just to the right of the village green.

Richard Parramint (who was the first school leaver to join Lotus in late 68, working on the production line, and other areas in the factory. He left Lotus in the early 70's to a life in sales, starting his own Office Equipment Company in 1987, and then onto coaching in presentation and communication skills. 2000 saw him back at Lotus helping out with the driver training events and renewing friendships with Alastair McQueen and going on to
organise driver training at Hethel and more recently in the U.S.A he says that he has always been a pain to Team Lotus, just hanging around in case they needed someone to push/clean a car.

After organising 50+ American Lotus fanatics to Norfolk in 2002 for a 5 day event, Clive Chapman asked him if he would get involved with Team's commercial activities...and as they say the rest is history if you want to know more about Classic Team Lotus and Richard, please go their websites:- www.classicteamlotus.co.uk  & www.positivespeech.co.uk.
 
Nick Adams (lead designer on the Elise S2, Lotus Cars - with Lotus for eighteen years, (Vehicle Development Manager). Nick Adams, the man with such enthusiasm and strong opinions on what was needed for the Elise world car that he was given the opportunity to ask of each and every component. "How heavy is it? How much does it cost? How do I get rid of it?" He allowed allen screws to be used to hold the heater control knobs in place to ensure that they never dropped off into your hand.

7th July BBQ at the Crown Inn, Elton
4th August Cars on the Green - judging the one you'd most like to take home (prizes will be given)
1st September Scalextric
6th October Guest Speaker - Guy Munday (The Stratton Motor Company).  Guy will be talking about the Paris Motor Show and the 'new' Lotus models coming out.
3rd November Nothing specific arranged
1st December NO MEETING because the Christmas Dinner is the same week
