Club Nights

Club Nights are on the 1st Wednesday of the month (except December & January), at The Crown Inn, Elton, off Junction 17 of the A1 (A605), nr Peterborough and start at 8.00/8.30 p.m.
Directions - From (junction 17) follow the signs West, towards Oundle and Northampton (A605). After approximately 2 miles, turn right into the village of Elton, continuing along this road for about half a mile before turning left into Middle Street (just after the bus stop), signposted Nassington. Follow the road round the sharp right bend, continuing on, and the Pub stands just to the right of the village green.

We didn’t expect many people to turn out for the first Club Night of the year but we were wrong - we had a good dozen arrive, plus a new member.

2nd April Guest Speaker – Andy Shepherd, winner of the ‘Top Lotus Driver of the Year’ trophy, for 2008.  Former winners of this include Jim Clark, Innes Ireland and John Oakley.
7th May Cars around the Green and 'Pick the One You’d Most Like to Take Home' competition, with a prize.
4th June Guest Speakers - Malcolm Ricketts & Bob Sparshott.
Bob Sparshott is Chief Executive of Spar-Tec Industries and has been involved in the engineering side of motor-sport for over 30 years.  It was during this time that Bob covered most aspects of the motor-sport business.
Bob’s career began with basic training, working for Team Lotus Ltd and he was fortunate, during this period, to have worked with all-time motor racing legends Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Mario Andretti and many others.
During the 70’s and 80’s Bob ran successful F1, F2 and F3000 teams, culminating in the 1985 F3000 drivers championship, which Christian Danner convincingly won, driving a March 85B F3000 car.
Bob’s original engineering company - B.S. Fabrications Ltd was renowned as the manufacturer of the best racing suspension components in the industry.  Continuing in this vein, Spar-tec Industries is a small company, employing only first class tradesmen, hand picked for their skills and dedication to the pursuit of excellence.
