Andy Shepherd - 'Top Lotus Driver of the Year' winner, 2008

Andy Shepherd

Andy gave a very interesting presentation at the 2nd April 2008 Club Night. As a 'Top Lotus Driver of the Year' trophy winner, he is in exalted company; former winners include Jim Clark, Innes Ireland and John Oakley.

This section of the website will report on Andy's progress through the 2008 Classic Cars racing season.

The 2010 HSCC race programme is reproduced below, along with my current plans. I'm not intending to compete at every event, this year; entry fees are higher, so only those with the highest enjoyment level seem worthwhile!

March 28th Silverstone
I won't be racing, but will be supporting Dr Hugh Powell in his first ever race, driving my S4 Seven

April 11th Cadwell Park
Probably not attending, but if I do it will be with the S2 Seven.

May 15th/16th Silverstone GP
Don't yet know which GP circuit this will be on; only if it is the 'new' one, with added length, will I race there in the S2 Seven. Any GP circuit would be good for the 23, but the £425 entry fee is giving me pause for thought...

June 5th/6th Snetterton
Just the S2 Seven, probably.

June 20th Mallory Park
Clashes with Colin's eldest daughter's wedding in Port Talbot the day before, so unless HRS is the last race of the day, unlikely!

July 3rd/4th Brands Hatch GP
Yes, yes, yes! Both cars will be out on this superb track.

July 23rd -25th Silverstone Classic
Again, not sure which GP circuit will be used; £295 entry fee, S2 Seven only...

August 1st Castle Combe
S2 Seven race only - good track, great organising club.

August 7th/8th Croft
S2 Seven only, friendly people, interesting track

August 29th/30th Oulton Park
Yes - both cars here

September 11th Brands Hatch
S2 Seven only possible winner here?

October 9th Silverstone
If this is, as usual, only on the National Circuit, I won't be racing, but may be there to watch as it probably coincides with our annual drivers' meeting.

All that remains is to get the cars ready in time!
